Achievement & Award

During 2012-2015, five Regal Hotels in Hong Kong implemented a series of sustainability measures to reduce the use of resources and promoted waste management through recycling practices. Highlights of our achievements include:

  • Reduced consumption by over 9 million kilowatt hours of electricity

  • Reduced consumption by over 18,000 litres of fuel oil

  • Recycled 146,000 kilograms of papers

  • Recycled 3,000 kilograms of plastic

  • Recycled over 23,000 kilograms of aluminium

Reducing carbon emissions is another main goal of environmental protection. The first carbon neutral hotel in Hong Kong, iclub Wan Chai Hotel has once again achieved the highest CarbonCare Label in 2013 for its 100% reduction of carbon. In 2013, all other Regal Hotels in Hong Kong received a Carbon"Less" Certificate from the Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence, recognising our success in carbon footprint reduction.

Three Regal Hotels in PRC, namely Regal International East Asia Hotel, Regal Shanghai East Asia Hotel and Regal Kangbo Hotel, have attained the Green Hotel criteria stipulated by the National Tourism Administration of China. Regal International East Asia Hotel has been classified as "China Green Hotel - Golden Leaf" while the rest of the two hotels as "China Green Hotel - Silver Leaf".
